THE STORY BEHIND QCT

Since I was little, butterflies have been a steady symbol in my life. They have reminded me of evolution, healing, and transformation.

When I began imagining my solo private practice, I kept returning to the idea of the cocoon. So much of my own life has involved shedding old versions of myself, sitting in uncertainty, and slowly becoming someone new. I have experienced this through queerness, family, partnership, identity, community, and learning to feel more liberated in my body.

To me, a cocoon is a place where we can:

  • Grieve the versions of ourselves we had to be for others

  • Rest from the pressure to get everything “perfect” or “right”

  • Explore who we are becoming at our own pace

Queer Cocoon Therapy was created to be that kind of space: soft, affirming, and deeply respectful. A place where you can arrive exactly as you are, whether you are queer, trans, nonbinary, questioning, fluid, expansive, or simply trying to understand yourself more fully.

Like a cocoon, therapy can hold both the falling apart and the forming. It can make room for uncertainty, possibility, grief, joy, and change. My hope is that this space offers the care, curiosity, and belonging I needed when I was younger, and that it supports you as you explore, heal, and become more fully yourself.
